If you’ve happened to stumble across this site, welcome! This is that Obligatory First Post where I introduce myself and offer a glimpse as to what you’ll find here.
My name is Sal Accardo, and if you’re reading this, there’s a good chance you already know me as “Sluggo,” from writing for GameSpy.com over the past 10 years. Having recently parted ways with my old home, this site will be a place for me to talk about games from (what I hope will be) an experienced point of view. What does that mean? The site is obviously a work in progress, but likely includes the following:
 – Daily news bits – not news releases, but a daily roundup of big going-ons with some commentary.
 – Regular editorials – I love to rant, and this is a perfect forum for it, whether it’s about the games themselves, the gaming business, or even gaming coverage.Â
 – Occasional reviews – I’m certainly not going to cover everything, but I’ll be posting reviews of whatever I happen to be playing.
 – A healthy dose of Guitar Hero / Rock Band coverage, including regular DLC videos (it’s hard for me to believe, but my YouTube videos are now over 1700 subscribers and 3.8 million views)
 – Small bits of off-topic game stuff – music, TV, movies, sports, whatever.
Is there a long-term goal here? Not really. I’ve always liked to write, to inform, to share opinions, and I’m hoping this will be a place to do so with people interested in the same stuff.
About the name: no, it doesn’t mean anything. I was looking for something short and abstract while sounding somewhat techy, and “Bytica” is what I settled on. Hey, if you can do a site called “Kotaku” or “Giant Bomb”, I can get away with it.
The site is still very much a work in progress, so don’t be surprised to see the design change repeatedly during these early weeks. Feedback is definitely appreciated, so if there’s something you like, or don’t like, or would like, by all means say so.
Welcome to Bytica.com!
